We get asked a lot of really great questions by members and potential members. Here are some of the questions we most frequently get asked. Don’t see your question here? Contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

General Questions

Nothing! It’s free and covered through Manitoba Health.

We are a non-profit organization and we operate with funds from the government. The amount of funding we receive is dependent on our membership. To ensure we continue to receive the funds necessary to provide this necessary service, our client’s must be members.

As one of our members explains, Veterans Alliance does more than just setting you up with medication. They offer peer support, spousal support, assistance with Veteran paperwork, and more. It is a place where you can connect with other people that have many of the same concerns as you do.

No if you have an awarded condition from Veterans Affairs you will be covered.

Yes, and we will help you obtain one.

Once you obtain a prescription, you can typically place your first order in 3 to 5 business days (once all paperwork is completed so your licensed producer can approve you as a customer).  

Once you obtain a prescription, we will sit down with you and educate you appropriately.

No, our peer support group is optional (although many of our members find it very helpful).

Cannabis Questions

Not necessarily. There are different strains of cannabis with varying effects on the body, and different ways to consume medical cannabis—not all will make you feel “high.”

Everything is ordered online or on the phone. (You will need to pay by credit card.) Your orders will be delivered to your home by Canada Post or Purolator and you will have to be home to sign for them when they arrive.
